How to Die Cut Blazing Star Quilt Blocks:
For best cutting results, position fabric on the lengthwise grain
(straight of grain) as it goes under the roller. For one complete
5-color block, cut four layers of background fabric and two layers each,
right sides facing, of the light/dark outer star points and light/dark
inner star points at a time.
- Shape A – Block Background: Cut an 8 5/8" strip
across the width of fabric. Fanfold into 3 1/2" widths. Place on
selected blade and cut. Cut 22 Shape A’s across the width of fabric. One
yard of 40" wide fabric cuts 88 Shape A’s.
- Shape B – Outer Star Points: Cut a 7 7/8" strip
across the width of fabric. Fanfold into 3 1/2" widths. Place on
selected blade and cut. Cut 22 Shape B’s across the width of fabric. One
yard of 40" wide fabric cuts 88 Shape B’s.
- Shape C – Inner Star Points: Cut a 10" strip across
the width of fabric. Fanfold into 3 1/2" widths. Place on selected
blade and cut. Cut 22 Shape C’s across the width of fabric. One yard of
40" wide fabric cuts 66 Shape C’s.
